As Wikipedia defines digital marketing ” Digital marketing is the marketing of products or services using digital technologies, mainly on the Internet, but also including mobile phones, display advertising, and any other digital medium “, okay let’s make that simpler it’s marketing any product or service that involves electronic device and let’s notice that i didn’t mention “Online”.
you can implement digital marketing both ways (online and offline) and that would be great for your business, let’s talk a little bit about offline digital marketing although it’s not our main subject her but to make things clear for people that are reading and started to doubt and ask questions :
Offline Digital Marketing :
Radio, Television and Phone aren’t they digital devices ? when you implement marketing campaign on those devices wouldn’t that called digital marketing ? Yes for sure that’s digital marketing and that devices don’t even need internet connection !!

And so let’s define online digital marketing as ” marketing any product or service online ” also any marketing effort you do to reach people online to multiple purposes like getting clients to know your company (Awareness), attracting your clients attention to your product or service (Consideration), getting clients to buy your product of service (Decision).
Those purposes is called a buyer’s journey, Purchasing process for your product or service is a journey as we (Marketers) call, and consumers advance through that process to buy from you, every stage of this journey has a way to treat with your client and an asset you may use, so let’s get to know what could your assets be :
- Branding (logos, colors, fonts, etc.).
- Website.
- Blog posts.
- Social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)

The search engine technique have two parts : the free (organic) and the paid part, i’m sure you need to use both of them for your business success, let’s see what are they from a closer look :

It’s an ongoing process that you need to do always on a day to day basis, it’s optimizing your whole content (website, content, images, videos, etc.) to make search engines love it as users too to rank higher in search engine results.
Search Engine Marketing (SEM).
That’s the paid part of search engine techniques and let’s make this clear it’s achieving SEO’s results by paying money to search engines to display their ads on search results to get interested customers to website to buy product or service.
Social Media:
Definitely we already knows what is social media but what are the efforts that we will do to market our services or products, that should be something like: engaging with customers, building relationships, send them to our products and services and then getting their feedback and that’s a powerful use of social media .
Social Media optimization (SMO).
It’s optimizing the look, content, category, details, brand voice, and communication of our brand and using several outlets and communities to generate publicity to increase the awareness of our brand and to reach more interested customers organically.
Social Media Marketing (SMM).
You already know that you can do the awareness, publicity and reach your goal easily but when you pay money that’s a lesson you learned from SEO & SEM, but in the social media world you can integrate your content naturally into your customers feeds, allowing you to show them that your brand worth it and their friends liked you or interacted with you.
Affiliate Marketing.
Do you know that when you tell some friend that you tried a good product and he goes to buy that product you can earn some money, referral marketing is something like that: sharing profits with marketers when they promote your products or service and succeeded in selling.
Email Marketing.
I think that it is the second most effective way of online digital marketing after search engine marketing, you can use this technique after you clients subscribe to your mailing list to send them your content, offers and advantages of your products or services.
Mobile Marketing.
The online marketing technique focused at reaching your customers on their smart phones and tablets through websites, E mail, social media or mobile applications to deliver your message to your audience.
